I was fortunate enough to attend the #Food4Thought National gathering in Hobart on the weekend. Such an inspiring and motivated group of people from Darwin to Hobart and everywhere in between. Costa Georgiadis from Gardening Australia was an incredible furry ball of energy that I was very proud to give one of our home grown nashis to. His genuine enthusiasm felt as though he could fuel this community gardens movement alone. Thankfully there is no need for that, with all those keen gardeners, food activists and community builders itching to get their hands dirty. I myself would like to pick up our community and drop it in the middle of our school garden, so I’ll work on that for a start. Well…that and growing the perfect onion! My favourite quote of the gathering ‘Let’s be realists, but let’s dream the impossible.’
